Most of the kids I shared my childhood with were also children of immigrants from Central America and East and South Asia. I lived in a multigenerational household where four adults - my grandma, mom, grandpa, and aunt - collectively raised me. I grew up in a working-class/lower-middle-class suburb that’s around 20 miles from where I live today. This week I have been thinking a lot about home, and how home shapes the way we feel about our bodies.
